Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday arrived at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport in Bauchi to represent President Bola Tinubu at the funeral prayer of the late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Shettima’s visit follows the passing of the respected cleric on Thursday.
The Vice President is expected to join thousands of sympathisers, religious leaders, and top government officials for the burial, which will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.
Officials accompanying him include the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate; and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar.
Others in attendance are Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, Senator Shehu Buba, and former Bauchi State Governor, Ahmed Mu’azu.
