YESTERDAY’S ENDORSEMENT: OSOGBO HAS DRAWN THE LINE
The Osogbo Progressive Youths Movement wishes to formally announce that the events of yesterday transcended a political gathering. It was a resounding declaration of Osogbo’s collective resolve and political reawakening.
At the historic assembly, Osogbo sons and daughters unanimously endorsed Adekunle AbdulRasheed Adegoke, SAN, as the sole governorship choice for the 2026 election, while reaffirming unwavering support for His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
This unified action has sent a message that cannot be misunderstood: Osogbo is awake — fully, boldly, and permanently.
The passion and solidarity demonstrated — from the determined procession to the charged atmosphere — mirrored the same emotional significance of the day Osogbo was officially declared the capital of Osun State. Yesterday’s gathering reminded the entire state of Osogbo’s identity, history, and rightful political position.
The OPYM wishes to state clearly, without ambiguity:
The moment the All Progressives Congress (APC) presents an Osogbo indigene as its governorship candidate, the election is effectively won.
This is not rhetoric but a reflection of political realities. Osogbo possesses:
the numbers,
the structure,
the loyalty, and
the moral mandate that have sustained the party since inception.
Osogbo has no internal enemies. Any attempt to suggest otherwise is a deliberate narrative promoted by external forces seeking to undermine the unity and aspiration of the capital city. Opposition to Osogbo’s rightful rise comes from outside, not from within.
For 35 years, Osogbo endured silence and marginalisation.
For 35 years, it was patient, loyal, and accommodating.
That period has ended.
As the capital of Osun State, Osogbo must now assume the honour, dignity, and political relevance befitting its status. The era of partial recognition and political sidelining is over. Osogbo will no longer accept tokenism or political charity.
The Osogbo Progressive Youths Movement extends profound appreciation to every youth, elder, leader, and supporter whose presence and enthusiasm made yesterday’s declaration historic. Your unity has spoken louder than any campaign message.
Osogbo has spoken — clearly, firmly, and unapologetically.
And moving forward, we will not be pushed aside again.
Signed:
Comrade Jimoh Oyekola Ajayi
Osogbo Progressive Youths Movement
