No alcohol, weapons, drones: CAF issues AFCON 2025 stadium rules

As excitement builds for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, which begins on December 21 in Morocco, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has published a list of items that are prohibited in all tournament stadiums.

According to the guidelines shared on CAF’s website on Monday, the rules are designed to ensure fan safety throughout the competition.

Spectators attending AFCON 2025 matches in Morocco will undergo security screening.

They are advised to avoid bringing prohibited items into the stadiums to guarantee safety, maintain order, and ensure a smooth match-day experience.

The list of items that fans are asked to leave at home before entering AFCON stadiums includes:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Illegal substances and drugs
  • Weapons and sharp objects
  • Fireworks and pyrotechnics
  • Glass bottles or containers
  • Flammable materials
  • Racist, violent or discriminatory banners
  • Unauthorised political, religious or commercial signs
  • Drones and animals
  • Large umbrellas and oversized hats
  • Professional cameras and recording equipment
  • Musical instruments and loud horns
  • Radio-emitting devices (except mobile phones)
  • Heavy or large bags
