Manchester City have sealed the transfer of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth FC in a £65 million move.
The Premier League champions confirmed the signing in a statement issued on Friday.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian forward has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.
Semenyo will don the number 42 shirt for City, after the club activated his release clause, making the deal Bournemouth’s highest-ever sale.
“I am so proud to have joined Manchester City,” the attacker said.
“They have set the highest of standards, and it’s a club with world-class players, world-class facilities and one of the greatest managers ever in Pep [Guardiola].
“I have so much scope for improvement, so to be at this club, at this stage of my career, is perfect for me. It’s a real privilege to be here.
“My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that.”
The forward featured for Bournemouth for the final time on Wednesday, scoring the decisive late goal in their 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
He is currently the third-highest goalscorer in the English Premier League (EPL) this season, with only Erling Haaland and Igor Thiago ahead of him.
Though born in London, Semenyo is of Ghanaian descent and represents Ghana at international level.
