The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency has reopened all public parks under its supervision across the state after completing scheduled maintenance and facility improvements.
The announcement was made in a statement released by the state government on Tuesday via its official Facebook page.
The parks, which were shut between January 12 and 31, 2026, were renovated through landscaping, repairs, and general upgrades aimed at improving safety, usability, and visual appeal following increased activity during the festive period.
Well-known recreational spots such as Ndubisi Kanu Park, Alausa (JJT Park), Dr. Finnih Abayomi Park in Oregun, along with other parks managed by LASPARK statewide, are now open to the public.
In the statement, LASPARK stressed that the exercise was aimed at ensuring the parks remain serene, safe, and functional spaces for relaxation, recreation, and wellness.
“The maintenance work was essential to preserve the safety, cleanliness, and ambience of our parks. We urge Lagosians to enjoy these green spaces responsibly and help keep them clean,” the agency said.
LASPARK also reminded the public that caring for public parks is a shared responsibility.
“These spaces are vital to environmental sustainability, community wellbeing, and the overall quality of life in Lagos State,” the statement added.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to providing vibrant, well-maintained parks that promote healthy lifestyles and enhance urban living across the state.
