The Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie, has publicly apologised to her colleague Mercy Johnson.

The apology follows weeks after Okorie was arrested in Lagos by operatives from the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID). She was remanded to the Suleja correctional centre after her arraignment over alleged cyber-related crimes linked to their feud.

The conflict began last year when Okorie claimed Johnson was battling “an ailment I do not wish on my enemies.” She also accused Johnson of hypocrisy, suggesting her public use of “church words” contrasted with her true character, and urged her to seek forgiveness from those she had wronged.

Johnson initially addressed the matter with a cryptic social media post before disengaging from the public dispute.

In a recent Instagram video, Angela, who has since been released from prison, apologised to Mercy and her family, expressing regret over her actions and the fallout from their disagreement.

She attributed the conflict to industry gossip and misunderstandings, noting that people often relayed conflicting stories to both parties.

Okorie emphasised a shift in her priorities, stating she no longer wants conflict in her life.

“This video is specifically for Mercy, her kids and family. You know when we were getting older, a lot of things would leave you. When we were growing in the industry, a lot of people would come and tell me that Mercy said this, and some people would tell Mercy that Angela said that,” she said.

“There have been issues, quarrels, chaos, loggerheads, and at this age, I do not think this is what I want. The only thing I want right now is money, business. If you have business, please call me. I am no longer listening to those cheap gossips.

“I just want to apologise to you. If it is just my words, if it is the words that I have written anytime your name pops up on social media, I am deeply sorry. You are not a witch, you are not what people are calling you.”

She ended her apology with concern for their children, noting the bullying her sister’s children faced due to online vitriol.

“This is just to say I am sorry, we do not know where our kids would meet each other tomorrow. They might be best of friends. These kids have been traveling far and wide, they can meet anywhere in the world. I do not like the fact that they call my sis kids witches in school and they bully them. If they do it to my child, I would not take it. So this is to say I am sorry, deeply sorry for everything.”
