Muyiwa Adekeye, Media Adviser to former Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai, on Thursday claimed that security operatives made an attempt to arrest the former governor.
Adekeye alleged that the operatives tried to detain El-Rufai when he arrived on a flight from Cairo.
In a statement, he said El-Rufai refused to go with the agents in the absence of a formal invitation, after which they reportedly collected his passport from one of his aides.
He also claimed that the agents seized the former governor’s international passport at the airport.
The full statement from Adekeye reads: “Security agents today attempted to arrest Malam Nasir elrufai as he arrived on a flight from Cairo.
“Malam El-Rufai declined to follow them without a formal Invitation. They however snatched his passport from an aide.”
