Tinubu hails NSA Ribadu, says Nigeria gradually winning war against bandits, terrorists
President Bola Tinubu has restated his administration’s determination to overcome the scourge of banditry and terrorism that has plagued several parts of the country.
The President gave the assurance on Monday in Yola while commissioning projects undertaken by Adamawa State Governor, Umaru Fintiri.
He particularly praised the efforts of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and pledged continued support for personnel in uniform as they carry out their duties.
“We are grateful to the Nigerian Armed Forces for their dedication to freeing Nigeria from banditry and insurgency. Together, we shall prevail.
“We will continue to encourage our governors and call on citizens to give them maximum cooperation in developing their states and the nation as a whole.
“As your leader, I assure you of my continued service and sacrifice. Nigeria belongs to us all to build. I am a very happy man,” he said.
The Commander-in-Chief also commended Governor Fintiri for the projects executed by the state government.
‘Courageous’ Ribadu
President Tinubu further expressed appreciation for the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, an indigene of Adamawa State, acknowledging his contribution to national security.
He described Ribadu, a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police and former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as a distinguished son of the North-East.
The President stated that with Ribadu’s commitment, the enemies of Nigeria would be decisively dealt with.
“I must state clearly that you are doing an excellent job and we can see the results.
“With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists. You are an outstanding National Security Adviser — honest, bold, courageous, and dedicated to the task. I believe the people of Adamawa are immensely proud of you, and so am I,” Tinubu added.
