A woman who identified herself as the ex-girlfriend of hypeman and singer Segun Johnson has shared details of how their 13-year relationship came to an end.
In a now-viral video, she explained that the relationship went through several “ups and downs” before they eventually reconciled in the United Kingdom.
According to her, Johnson persuaded her to return to Nigeria, assuring her of his support and commitment.
“I thought him telling me to come back home meant he wanted to settle down with me,” she said.
She admitted that she was initially hesitant about leaving the UK.
“I was not ready to come back. I wanted to save more money. I didn’t want to depend on anybody,” she explained.
The woman said she later gave in to the pressure and relocated to Lagos, leaving behind the life she had established abroad.
She alleged that things changed after she moved into his residence in Lagos. According to her, Johnson travelled to the UK and returned with a money-counting machine, which raised her suspicions, prompting her to check his phone.
“I saw that it was a lady that gave him the machine. He has been with this lady since last year,” she said.
She added that when she confronted him, he allegedly failed to give a clear explanation.
The woman further claimed that he later sent her a voice note simply stating, “Now is the time,” effectively ending their 13-year relationship.
Describing the experience as “deceit and betrayal,” she said he convinced her to leave everything behind in the UK, only to end the relationship after she relocated to Lagos.
As of the time of this report, Segun Johnson has not responded to the allegations.
