Youth members of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, representing all 18 local government areas, have declared their commitment to rally support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Operating under the banner of the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu, the group said its goal is to mobilise over one million votes for the President in the next general election.

Speaking during a meeting in Akure on Sunday, the group’s Director-General, Thalis Apalowo, stated that the President merits a second term, citing what he described as bold efforts to reform and reposition Nigeria’s economy.

He noted that Tinubu’s policies are already transforming the nation’s economic outlook and creating opportunities for Nigerians, particularly young people, which, he said, justifies the push for his continued leadership beyond 2027.

He said, “Our mission is to educate young people about government policies and opportunities, to serve as a bridge between the government and the youth population, and to promote unity, participation and democratic responsibility.

“As we move toward the future, the youth of Ondo State must become ambassadors of progress, advocates of development and defenders of good governance. Now it is our responsibility as youths of Ondo State to support these efforts and ensure that the vision of Renewed Hope becomes a reality for every Nigerian. So we are working towards securing more than one million votes for the President in this state.”

Apalowo described the current administration as youth-focused, pointing to initiatives aimed at empowering young people and increasing their involvement in governance.

He added that the group is committed to mobilising youths across the state, down to the grassroots, in support of what he called the President’s progressive leadership.

“One of the most remarkable achievements of this administration is its commitment to youth empowerment through education and economic opportunities. Through the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, more than 510,000 Nigerian students across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory have already benefited from education loans, enabling them to pursue higher education without financial barriers.

“This historic intervention means that the dreams of thousands of young Nigerians, who once thought education was beyond their reach, are now becoming a reality. Beyond education, the Tinubu administration has also expanded access to credit and economic empowerment. Through initiatives like CreditCorp, over N30 billion in affordable loans have been granted to more than 150,000 Nigerians, supporting purchases of digital devices, vehicles, solar energy systems and home improvements.

“For young entrepreneurs and innovators, programmes like iDICE are unlocking opportunities in the digital and creative industries, ensuring that Nigerian youth can compete globally in technology, entertainment and innovation. President Tinubu has repeatedly described Nigerian youths as the ‘greatest assets of the nation,’ and his policies clearly demonstrate that belief. But leadership is not only about policies; it is also about assembling the right team—leaders who share the same vision and possess the courage to implement it.”

He expressed confidence that the group’s formation would signal strong youth backing for the President, adding that “the youths are ready, the movement is strong and the future belongs to those who dare to build it.”

Apalowo also praised the President for appointing two indigenes of Ondo State—Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and Ayodele Olawande—into his cabinet
