The veteran Nollywood actress, Toyin Adewale, has refuted claims alleging that her celebrity son, Mayorkun, lost his home to a fire outbreak.
A blog had shared a report online alleging that the singer’s Lagos residence was engulfed by fire on Saturday night following an explosion, with claims that he and his family narrowly escaped.
Responding in an Instagram post on Sunday, Adewale challenged the authenticity of the report and criticised the platform for publishing what she described as unverified information.
The actress also voiced her dissatisfaction with the source of the report, adding that she was leaving those responsible “to God”.
“… why would you do this? Don’t you verify your news before posting? This is seriously unfair. My family and I will never cry, nor sorrow, nor evil shall befall us IJN. Please… learn to do better,” she wrote.
Adewale also expressed gratitude to family members and friends who reached out after the report.
“And to my family and friends, I say thank you so much for the calls and messages. I sincerely appreciate,” she said.
Mayorkun, born Mayowa Adewale, had yet to react to the issue at the time of filing this report.
