The ace Nigerian singer, Charly Boy, has marked the milestone of becoming a great grandfather.

The ‘Odudubariba’ hitmaker shared his excitement on his X page, posting a picture of his grandson and his wife holding their baby together. Charly Boy, 75, expressed gratitude to God for his blessings, though he did not disclose the baby’s name or birth date.

“Behold, my grandson with my great grandson. God never bless me reach?” he wrote.

Fans flooded the comment section with congratulations for the singer on the new addition to his family.

Born Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, Charly Boy is celebrated for his alternative lifestyle and bold political views. He rose to fame in the 1980s with his eccentric persona, earning the nickname ‘Area Fada’.

His music combines rock, highlife, and socially conscious themes, with tracks like ‘Odudubariba’ reflecting his rebellious image. Beyond music, he is a well-known activist, notably involved in the ‘Our Mumu Don Do’ movement, where he has consistently criticised poor governance and social injustice in Nigeria.

He is married to Diane Oputa, and together they have three children.
