Ogun 2027: Group raises N2m for Yayi’s gov nomination form

A political support group in Ogun State, Caucus 7202, Yewa South Chapter, has donated a N2 million cheque to assist with the governorship nomination form of the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Olamilekan Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

According to a statement on Friday, the cheque was presented during an endorsement rally held at the International Market Ground, Owode/Ajilete, Yewa South Local Government Area, in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and Senator Adeola Yayi’s governorship ambition.

The group’s Director-General, Alhaji Moctar Koiki, explained that the gesture reflects their dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda of Tinubu, as well as their efforts to mobilise grassroots support across the state for both his re-election and Yayi’s gubernatorial pursuit.

Koiki said, “As ambassadors of Renewed Hope, we are committed to working towards the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027,” Koiki said.

“Today, we demonstrate this commitment by endorsing his re-election for a second term and presenting a cheque of N2 million to support the cost of the governorship nomination form of Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi.”

Koiki further described Tinubu as a “performing leader” who prioritises infrastructure, education, and inclusive governance.

The gathering attracted political stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters from different parts of the state, showcasing increasing support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and Senator Adeola Yayi’s governorship ambition in Ogun State.

Notable attendees included Ogun West DG, Caucus 7202, Alhaji Isiaka Abass Zacobass; Deputy DG, Caucus 7202, Prince Mukaila Oniyide; Kolawole Lawal; former House of Representatives member, Kayode Salako; APC Chairman, Yewa South, Otunba Tunji Idowu; and a former APC Chairman in Yewa South.

Prominent individuals such as Engr. Olayinka Tomiwa Akintomide, Alhaja Muibat Sobowale Egungbohun, Alhaji Nofiu Ogundipe, Chief Raufu Akanbi Yusuf, and Hon. Ogunjobi Ganiu Adio were also recognised as grand patron, matron, and patrons of the support group.
