President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have urged Nigerians to embrace hope, unity and compassion as the country marks Easter.

In his 2026 Easter message on Friday, Tinubu said the season symbolises sacrifice and resilience, noting that it reflects Nigeria’s current challenges.

“The Easter season reminds us of the significance of sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness,” he said.

Acknowledging ongoing security and economic challenges, Tinubu assured citizens that his administration is intensifying efforts to restore peace and promote growth.

“No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” he added.

In her message, the First Lady highlighted the importance of love and care for the vulnerable, stating, “Easter is a reminder of the enduring power of love and the selfless sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the hope His resurrection brings to all humanity.”

She encouraged Nigerians to show compassion within their communities and work collectively towards a peaceful and prosperous nation.

Tinubu also wished Nigerians a “Happy Easter”, while the First Lady called on citizens to reflect the spirit of the season through kindness and unity.
