Streaming platform Kava TV has linked recent loading disruptions on its service to a spike in user traffic following the release of Behind The Scenes.
The issue comes as the film continues to gain momentum, currently ranking number one on Netflix among African audiences in Nigeria and also topping Kava TV for international viewers.
In a statement shared on its Instagram page on Sunday, the platform explained that the surge in users temporarily strained its servers.
“We’re currently experiencing a record-breaking surge in traffic following the release of Behind The Scenes and it’s putting temporary pressure on our servers,” the statement read.

Kava TV assured users that efforts were underway to resolve the issue and restore smooth operations.
“Our technical team is fully on it, working around the clock to scale capacity and restore a smooth, high-quality experience across the platform,” it added.
The platform later confirmed that services had stabilised.
“To the thousands of you who tried to enter KAVA at the exact same second, your love is massive! We’ve cleared the road, and the app is back up,” it stated.
The movie has achieved significant commercial success both locally and internationally, earning £159,000 in the United Kingdom and Ireland to become the highest-grossing Nollywood release in those regions.
Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, it also generated ₦2.7 billion at the Nigerian box office, ranking among Nollywood’s biggest productions.
The distributor described the performance as “a record-breaking run and a defining moment for African cinema.”
Behind The Scenes features Scarlet Gomez in the lead role, alongside Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko, Tobi Bakre, Uzor Arukwe, and Mr Macaroni.
The film explores themes of fame, success, and the emotional realities behind public admiration, with particular emphasis on “black tax”—the financial and social expectations placed on individuals to support their families.
Its relatable storytelling and strong performances have driven its widespread appeal, further showcasing Nollywood’s growing global influence.
