PSV Eindhoven clinch 27th Dutch league title

PSV Eindhoven have been confirmed as Dutch champions for the 27th time after Feyenoord’s goalless draw with Volendam on Sunday, sealing the title with five matches still to play.

The side now sit an uncatchable 17 points clear at the top of the table, having recovered from back-to-back defeats with a thrilling 4-3 win over Utrecht on Saturday.

Under the guidance of Peter Bosz, Psv established early dominance in the title race, dropping only four points before the winter break.

The triumph marks their third consecutive league title, their first such streak since 2008.

Feyenoord, who lifted the trophy in 2023 under current Liverpool manager Arne Slot, had been the defending champions, while Ajax, currently fifth, have now gone four seasons without winning the title.

Psv’s latest success also secures their place in next season’s Champions League league phase.
