Rabiu Kwankwaso has extended a warm welcome to Aminu Gwarzo following his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement shared via his X account on Monday, Kwankwaso praised Gwarzo’s move, describing it as a major gain for the party. The former deputy governor officially joined the opposition coalition in Kano State on Sunday.
“I heartily congratulate Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, on his decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The grand reception held yesterday in Gwarzo Town has not only strengthened our ranks with his wealth of experience, but has also injected fresh energy and renewed enthusiasm into the party.
“Welcome home, Your Excellency, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo,” the former presidential candidate said.

This latest development follows Kwankwaso’s own recent move to the ADC, which has since sparked a series of defections and political realignments from the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
