The head coach of the Brazil national team, Carlo Ancelotti, has expressed confidence in Neymar Jr.’s recovery ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while stressing that his inclusion will depend on his fitness.

Speaking amid growing speculation over Neymar’s role in the squad, Ancelotti made it clear that only players in top physical condition will be selected.

“He has two months to show he still has the qualities to play in the next World Cup,” Ancelotti said.

“I believe he can return to 100%. I’ve said it before, and I’ll be clear: only physically ready players will get my call-up.

“After his knee injury, Neymar has made a good comeback; he is scoring goals. He needs to continue in this direction and improve his fitness. He’s on the right track.”

Neymar remains Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, with 79 goals and 59 assists in 128 appearances for the senior national team.
