The Nigerian model, Olajumoke Orisaguna, popularly known as Olajumoke Onibread, has responded to widespread online reactions following a recent TikTok video that sparked concern among fans.
In the viral clip, the former bread seller turned model was seen singing what appeared to be a freestyle. While some viewers found the video entertaining, others raised concerns about her appearance and behaviour, with some speculating that she had taken up smoking or drinking alcohol.
Reacting to the backlash, the mother of two clarified that the video was created strictly for entertainment.
She dismissed claims of substance use, explaining that the misunderstanding arose from her effort to create engaging content.
“I’m not happy about the comments I saw on my video. Some people were saying that I now smoke and drink alcohol. Why would anyone think that about me? It was just content. I know some people understood that, but it was only content,” she said.
“I don’t smoke or drink — I wasn’t raised that way. Please, I’m begging you all, don’t give me a reputation that isn’t mine. Even when I go to parties and I’m offered a drink, I simply leave it on the table.
“Please understand, it was all just content. Even the song I was singing is not mine.”
Olajumoke first gained national attention in 2016 after she unexpectedly walked into a high-profile photoshoot featuring Tinie Tempah. The moment was captured by photographer TY Bello, launching her into instant fame.
She went on to feature on magazine covers, walk fashion runways, and become a symbol of unexpected success. However, she later stepped away from the spotlight, prompting public curiosity about her whereabouts.
In 2024, she re-emerged as a radio presenter with her talk show Kilon Shele, where she shares her life story, including experiences with exploitative managers and challenges stemming from her limited education.
She has also spoken about enduring domestic abuse in her past marriage to Sunday Orisaguna.
