Osun 2026: APC’s Oyebamiji vows historic win in governorship election

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election 2026, Bola Oyebamiji, has declared that residents of the state would make history by electing him as governor in the upcoming election.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Oyebamiji made the declaration while addressing leaders and members of the Association of Mobile Telecommunication Engineers of Nigeria in Osogbo.

He was represented at the gathering by the Chairman of Civic Engagement of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye.

Oyebamiji said he was confident that voters across the state would massively support both him and the APC during the poll.

“History will be made on August 15 as I will be elected governor of the state. I am confident and hopeful in God and in you that it will be my day.

“History will also be made as Osun returns to the progressive path, and I count on you to make that happen,” he said.

He stated that he was ready to provide the dividends of democracy, stressing that governance is a serious responsibility.

Oyebamiji further explained that his administration would focus on policies designed to enhance the welfare of citizens.

He noted that his government would pursue a broad strategy centred on economic security, healthcare, education, and social protection, including expanding social safety nets to tackle poverty.

According to him, opportunities for economic growth would be created through support for small businesses and the expansion of large-scale enterprises via funding, capacity development, and infrastructure improvements.

He also assured members of the association that his administration would support them if elected, acknowledging the important role mobile telecommunications engineers play in economic and business growth.

Oyebamiji said his policy blueprint, tagged “PROSPER”, would be implemented to improve residents’ standard of living.

He urged the public to ignore what he called a campaign of calumny against him, maintaining that his upbringing and dedication to service are rooted in advancing humanity.

The APC candidate also appreciated the association for its continued backing of the party and promised that their support would be rewarded with good governance.

“Vote for me and let us make history together. Your support will be rewarded through good governance.

“I will not disappoint you. Rather, I will deliver outcomes that future generations will be proud of,” he said.

Earlier, the President of the association, Abdulrasaki Ejalonibu, pledged members’ support for Oyebamiji in the election.

Ejalonibu said members were motivated by the recognition shown to them and added that the previous APC administration led by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, had supported their activities.

He, however, urged the candidate to fulfil his campaign promises if elected.

“We assure you of our votes. Trust us, we will not betray you—do not betray us as well,” he said.

Osun State Governorship Election 2026 is scheduled to hold on August 15, 2026.

Oyebamiji will face incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party in the contest.
