David Raya secured the Premier League Golden Glove award for the third consecutive season on Sunday after recording 18 clean sheets, a tally no other goalkeeper can surpass, ESPN reports.

Raya played a key role in Arsenal F.C.’s dramatic victory over West Ham United F.C. at the London Stadium, producing several vital saves before VAR ruled that he had been fouled by Pablo during stoppage time, leading to West Ham’s late equaliser being overturned.

His closest rival, Gianluigi Donnarumma of Manchester City F.C., has managed 14 league clean sheets and can no longer close the gap, with City left to play only three league matches.

Raya’s crucial late save from a Matheus Fernandes strike, moments before Leandro Trossard scored at the other end for Arsenal, could prove to be a defining moment in the club’s title pursuit.

“When you talk about magic moments, this is certainly one of the most needed moments as well to pull off with that save. He [Raya] was incredible,” Mikel Arteta said after the match on Sunday.

Raya now joins Pepe Reina, Joe Hart, and Éderson as goalkeepers who have won the award three seasons in a row. The achievement also means he has claimed the honour in every season since joining Arsenal from Brentford F.C. in 2023.
