Michael Olise named best French player abroad after standout Bayern Munich season
Michael Olise has been crowned the best French player playing abroad following an outstanding campaign with Bayern Munich.
The winger beat strong competition from Rayan Cherki, Hugo Ekitike, Kylian Mbappé and William Saliba to claim the award.
After completing his first full season in Germany, Olise quickly became one of Bayern Munich’s most influential players. He finished as the top assist provider in both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League, recording 22 goals and 28 assists across competitions.
The award marks another major achievement for the French international, who has continued to establish himself as a key figure for club and country.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Olise said: “I am very grateful, I wanted to thank everyone at Bayern Munich, I can’t wait to give my all at the World Cup this summer, with the France team.”
Olise previously helped France reach the final of the football event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where they were beaten by Spain.
He is also expected to be included in France’s squad for the FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada later this year.
