The All Progressives Congress has denied reports claiming it changed the schedule for its 2027 primary elections, maintaining that the earlier announced dates are still in effect.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC confirmed that the House of Representatives primary election will hold on Friday, May 15, 2026, while the Senate primary is slated for Monday, May 18, 2026.
The party further announced that the State House of Assembly primary election will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with the governorship primary fixed for Thursday, May 21, 2026. The presidential primary election, according to the statement, remains scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026.
“This clarification has become necessary following the circulation of false and misleading reports on social media and other communication platforms suggesting otherwise,” the statement read.
The APC also urged members and the public to ignore unofficial reports concerning its electoral timetable.
