The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted its house of representatives primary election to May 16, 2026.

In a statement released on Thursday by Felix Morka, the APC national publicity secretary, the party said all other previously announced dates for the senate, state house of assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries remain unchanged.

Under the updated timetable, the house of representatives primary election will now take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The APC said the senate primary election is still scheduled for May 18, while the state house of assembly primary will hold on May 20.

The party added that the governorship primary election is fixed for May 21, while the presidential primary will be conducted on May 23, 2026.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the consensus option ahead of the APC primary elections.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Tinubu described consensus as a commendable approach that could help reduce rancour among party members.
