Cristiano Ronaldo’s bid to win his first title with Al Nassr ended in disappointment after the Saudi club suffered a 1-0 defeat to Gamba Osaka in the AFC Champions League Two final.

Al Nassr went into the final as strong favourites, having won all 10 of their matches in the competition. Despite making changes to the squad due to domestic league fixtures, the team appeared set to complete an impressive campaign with a trophy.

However, Gamba Osaka delivered a disciplined performance to frustrate the Saudi side, with goalkeeper Araki producing several key saves to keep Al Nassr scoreless.

The decisive moment came shortly after the break when Hummet scored the only goal of the match.

Al Nassr mounted pressure in search of an equaliser, with Joao Felix among the players who came close, but Gamba Osaka held on to claim the title and deny Ronaldo his first piece of silverware with the club.
