The burial arrangements for late Mr. Adesiyan Adegboye, the teacher reportedly killed during the coordinated attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, commenced on Friday at Ayegun Baptist Church, Ogbomoso.
Adegboye, aged 49, was said to have died on the spot during the attack which occurred last Friday, throwing residents and members of the education community into mourning.
Family members, sympathisers, colleagues, church members and residents gathered at the church to pay their last respects to the deceased, described by many as a dedicated teacher and peaceful community member.
The late teacher was buried on Friday at his residence located in the Owolake area of Ogbomoso.
The incident, which involved coordinated attacks on schools within Oriire Local Government Area, had sparked concern among residents over the safety of teachers, students and educational facilities in the area.
As of the time of filing this report, community leaders and residents continued to call for improved security measures to prevent future attacks and protect lives within school environments.
