Governor Ahmed Ododo has declared the support of the Confluence State for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid in 2027, describing the campaign as his own “personal project”.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Lokoja by the Kogi Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Kingsley Fanwo.

Ododo said Tinubu’s landslide victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary demonstrated strong confidence in the president’s visionary leadership and increasing nationwide acceptance.

According to the governor, the massive backing for the President highlights the trust party members and Nigerians have in his reform-focused administration and dedication to national growth.

He added that President Tinubu had shown “uncommon love” for Kogi through several landmark approvals and interventions expected to improve the state’s economic prospects.

“I see Mr President’s reelection as a personal project to unlock the enormous potential of Kogi.

“Mr President has granted approvals for the establishment of an airport, a Free Trade Zone, an Agricultural Processing Zone and many other transformational projects,” the statement quoted the governor as saying.

Ododo stressed that Kogi’s support for Tinubu’s reelection was driven by both appreciation and strategic interest, stating that “for us in Kogi, the reelection of Mr President is a reward for his love for the state and for the greatness of our nation.

“His economic reforms are reshaping our nation and laying the foundation for long-term prosperity”.

The governor also applauded Tinubu for implementing bold economic reforms despite prevailing challenges, noting that history would favour leaders willing to make difficult choices for future stability and prosperity.

He further assured Tinubu of the full backing of the Kogi Government and its people ahead of the 2027 general elections, reaffirming the state’s commitment to progressive leadership, economic advancement, and national unity.

Ododo equally commended the President for participating in the democratic process despite being the National Leader of the party, saying the move had further strengthened his popularity among Nigerians.

With the declaration, Kogi has now joined the increasing number of states aligning behind the President’s reelection campaign.
