Civil society organisations have taken to the streets of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to protest the recent abduction of pupils and teachers in the state.
The demonstration comes days after teachers staged a protest in Ogbomoso, where the kidnapping took place, demanding swift action to secure the release of the victims.
Protesters marched through parts of the city carrying placards bearing messages such as, “Every Life Matters, Stop the Kidnappers,” “47 Abducted, Scared and Alone,” and “Stand Up! Speak Out!”
The protesters are calling for urgent government intervention and improved security measures to ensure the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers.
