Arne Slot has turned down an approach from Fulham to become their next manager, according to talkSPORT.

The Dutch coach was dismissed by Liverpool last week, with Andoni Iraola confirmed as his replacement on Thursday.

Fulham are currently in search of a new manager following the expected departure of Marco Silva, who is set to join Benfica.

Slot emerged as a target for the west London club, but he declined the opportunity to take charge.

talkSPORT reported earlier in the week that Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is also interested in the Fulham position.

McKenna reportedly has an £8million release clause in his contract after guiding Ipswich to Premier League promotion.

Former Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank has also been considered for the role, although he has ruled out returning to management in the Premier League this summer.

Slot was sacked just a year after leading Liverpool to the Premier League title.

Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan told talkSPORT that the former Feyenoord manager was taken aback by the decision, though he reportedly holds no resentment towards the club.

Since his departure, Slot has been linked with AC Milan, and a move into international management has also been suggested.
