As part of efforts to boost security across Delta State, Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi visited several identified trouble spots and operational checkpoints to assess the effectiveness of personnel deployment and ongoing policing activities.

The inspection covered major locations along the expressway, including Edjekota Junction, Evwreni Junction, Ohoro Junction and other strategic points considered vulnerable to criminal activities.

Addressing officers during the tour, the police chief urged them to “remain vigilant, observe professionalism, and engage members of the public with courtesy and respect.”

He stressed the importance of maintaining high professional standards while interacting with residents, warning officers against misconduct, intimidation or actions that could undermine public confidence in the force.

Oyeniyi also instructed personnel that “officers must be properly dressed, maintain a smart appearance, and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.”

Although he praised officers for their dedication to duty, he cautioned that “the Command will not tolerate any form of misconduct or complaints from the public.”

The commissioner further assured residents that the command remains focused on protecting lives and property, stating that it “is committed to ensuring the safety of life and property.” He also called on members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with useful information that could aid crime-fighting efforts.
