The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents, school authorities and parents that there is no confirmed intelligence pointing to any planned attack or abduction of schoolchildren in the state.

To prevent any possible security breach, the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, has directed the deployment of reinforced security measures across schools and other sensitive locations, with officers and other security agencies mobilised to safeguard educational institutions and critical infrastructure.

The clarification came after a message allegedly pasted within a school began circulating online, warning of a supposed bandit attack targeting pupils.

Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said the command reviewed the situation and found no credible intelligence supporting any imminent threat.

She explained that while the report was taken seriously, investigations showed no verified indication of danger, urging residents to remain calm and avoid unnecessary panic.

The command further stated that the commissioner had ordered an immediate assessment and the strengthening of security deployment around vulnerable areas across the state.

Authorities reaffirmed that Lagos remains secure and stressed that proactive measures are in place to prevent any criminal infiltration or activity.

The police also warned that any individuals or groups attempting to create fear, panic or insecurity would face decisive legal action.

Residents were encouraged to stay alert and continue providing timely and reliable information to security agencies, with emphasis that public cooperation remains essential to maintaining safety.

The command added that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the continued protection and well-being of everyone in Lagos State.
