The Oyo State Government on Monday pulled down a building believed to have been used by kidnappers to detain the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons in Ibadan.
The structure was allegedly connected to the criminal group accused of abducting Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin boys, Peter and Paul, and was identified as one of the locations where the victims were reportedly held during their captivity.
According to reports, the victims were abducted along Elewura, Ring Road, Ibadan, while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her sons to school.
The demolition exercise was conducted by the Ministry of Lands and Housing in collaboration with security agencies following intelligence reports linking the structure to the criminal operation.
The state government said the action was part of efforts to reinforce its zero-tolerance stance against criminality.
The victims were rescued during a coordinated operation by the Nigeria Police Force, which led to the neutralisation of two suspected kidnappers and the arrest of others.
