US strikes damage diplomatic efforts — Iran

Iran’s foreign ministry has accused the United States of undermining ongoing international diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war, following fresh US strikes on targets in southern Iran.

Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei made the claim in a video message broadcast by Iranian media on Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, the United States is damaging this diplomatic process through the contradictory messages it sends, its repeated shifts in positions and demands, and, worst of all, through repeated violations of the ceasefire,” he said.

“Any diplomatic process is damaged by the use of force and by resorting to unlawful actions on the ground.”

The comments come as tensions persist, with Iran alleging that continued military action is weakening prospects for negotiations and peace efforts.
