Residents of Danare community in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State have expressed concern following the circulation of a video online allegedly showing a large number of Cameroonian military personnel within the border area.

The footage, which has been widely shared on social media, purportedly shows more than 200 armed officers in or around the community. However, the circumstances surrounding their presence and the authenticity of the claims contained in the video could not be independently verified as of the time of this report.

The development has generated anxiety among residents, with many calling on relevant authorities to clarify the situation and determine whether any unauthorised border crossing occurred.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigerian military nor the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs had issued an official statement regarding the video or the alleged presence of foreign troops in the area.

The incident has sparked discussions online, with concerned citizens urging the Federal Government to investigate the claims and provide reassurance to communities along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
