Lamine Yamal will make his first start in two months after returning to Spain’s starting line-up for Sunday’s World Cup clash against Saudi Arabia.

The 18-year-old last started a match before suffering a hamstring injury on April 22. He returned as a substitute in Spain’s opening World Cup fixture but was unable to prevent a disappointing goalless draw against tournament debutants Cape Verde.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has recalled the Barcelona forward as part of four changes to the side following the underwhelming display in their opening Group match.

Pedro Porro, Dani Olmo and Alex Baena also return to the starting line-up, replacing Marcos Llorente, Fabian Ruiz, Ferran Torres and Gavi.

Spain, one of the pre-tournament favourites, are seeking their first win of the tournament after failing to break down Cape Verde in their opening fixture.

Saudi Arabia also began their campaign with a draw after holding Uruguay to a 1-1 result.

The Saudis will be hoping to produce another memorable World Cup upset, having stunned eventual champions Argentina during the group stage of the 2022 tournament.
