Popular socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has stirred reactions online after showcasing customised luxury vehicles designed to campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 polls.

Cubana Chief Priest, said to be the City Boy Movement’s director in Imo State, has remained outspoken about his political ambitions and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a series of videos shared on his Instagram story on Wednesday, the socialite displayed a campaign-branded Lamborghini Urus and a Dongfeng M-Hero parked at a residence.

Both vehicles were wrapped in green, white, blue and red colours, featuring portraits of Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, and Tinubu’s son, Seyi.

Inscriptions including “City Boy Movement,” “APC,” and “Asiwaju Still on Motion” were prominently displayed on the vehicles.

The videos, which have since spread across social media, triggered mixed reactions amid ongoing debates over the role of celebrities and socialites in Nigerian politics, with many questioning such displays in a country facing economic hardship.

“See what they’re using the money they can use to better a community to do,” one X user, #FowobiofLagos, wrote. Another user, #chukwuebuka, commented, “Man is shamelessly money driven. The love of money is the root of all…”

#ObiOfala added, “ This one no send wetin anybody the talk! He just wants a foot in the corridors of power! Proper house nigga.” Meanwhile, #Toocrazzyyyy quipped, “He no go still see pass 14 votes,” referencing Cubana Chief Priest’s reported low vote count in a previous APC primary.

Other reactions criticised the broader political implications. #beet_kon wrote, “Always trying to feel relevant in politics,” while #JosephGold09 said, “This man is the saddest rich man in the country. Money dey, but purpose no dey. Just dey do like poor man.”

Cubana Chief Priest, who rose to fame through his hospitality business and extravagant lifestyle often summed up by his catchphrase “Money Na Water,” had not issued an official statement on the videos as of press time. He has previously defended his lavish displays as expressions of abundance rather than vanity.

The socialite’s political involvement has attracted attention in the past, including his participation in APC activities and claims of receiving compensation after losing a party primary. His latest move is expected to spark further conversations around wealth, politics and public perception ahead of the 2027 elections.
