Another ‘abattoir’ actor dies as mount zion suffers fresh loss

45

The Mount Zion movie ministry has been thrown into mourning again following the death of Omooba Oluwasegun Oyeyemi, the actor who portrayed Flora’s husband in the popular gospel film Abattoir.

His passing comes more than a year after the death of Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, who played Flora in the movie. She died on February 4, 2025, from complications arising from a fatal road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on December 26, 2024. The crash also claimed the life of one of her two-year-old twin daughters.

Her death attracted widespread tributes from the gospel film community, with Evangelist Mike Bamiloye and Joshua Mike-Bamiloye among those who honoured her memory. It also followed the earlier passing of another Abattoir cast member, Moses Korede Are, popularly known as “Baba Gbenro.”

With Oyeyemi’s death, the Abattoir cast has suffered yet another painful loss, leaving colleagues, fans and members of the Mount Zion ministry grieving.

According to the funeral announcement, his “Service of Songs” will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, while his burial is scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, in Ibadan.

The latest tragedy has sparked an outpouring of condolences for his family and the Mount Zion movie ministry, as many pray that his soul rests in perfect peace.
