Actor Ikechukwu Nweke seeks financial support for cancer treatment

Actor and filmmaker Ikechukwu Nweke has appealed for financial support from the public as he continues to battle colon cancer.

In an Instagram post titled My Cancer Journey, Nweke revealed that he has spent over ₦15 million on medical treatment in the last few months.

He explained that his treatment has included chemotherapy, radiotherapy, several scans, medical tests, and extended hospital admissions, describing the journey as physically demanding and emotionally draining.

The actor expressed gratitude to his family for their sacrifices and acknowledged the support of colleagues, including Destiny Etiko, Ebele Okaro, Lizzy Gold and Uche Nancy, for standing by him financially, emotionally and spiritually.

Nweke said his doctors have advised him to begin the next phase of treatment immediately to improve his chances of full recovery, but noted that the financial burden has become overwhelming.

He appealed to members of the public for donations, prayers and support to enable him continue his treatment.

“For months now, I have been fighting cancer with everything I have. It has been a painful journey filled with countless hospital visits, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, tests, scans, medications and emotional battles.

“So far, over ₦15 million has been spent on my treatment. My family has sacrificed beyond words, and I remain deeply grateful to everyone who has stood by me.

“Unfortunately, my battle is not over yet. My doctors have advised that I must continue with the next phase of my treatment to give me the best chance of a full recovery. I cannot afford to stop or skip this stage, but the financial burden has become overwhelming.

“Today, I am humbly asking for your help. No amount is too small. Your support, your prayers and even sharing this video can make a real difference in my fight for life. I believe that with God’s mercy and the kindness of people, I will overcome this,” he wrote.
