The Nigerian naira recorded mixed performance against the United States dollar on Saturday, July 11, 2026, across the parallel and official foreign exchange markets.

At the Lagos parallel market, popularly known as the black market, Bureau De Change (BDC) operators sold the dollar at ₦1,425 and bought it at ₦1,410 on Friday, July 10.

This means the US dollar exchanged at ₦1,425 for buyers, while sellers received ₦1,410 in the unofficial market.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has continued to maintain that it does not recognise the parallel market, advising individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange to carry out transactions through authorised banking channels.

At the official foreign exchange window, the highest exchange rate recorded for the dollar was ₦1,382, while the lowest rate stood at ₦1,375.

The latest figures indicate that although the official market remains relatively stable, the parallel market continues to trade at a higher rate.
