The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that it successfully uploaded the details of its 471 candidates for the presidential and National Assembly elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Candidate Nomination Portal.

The submission officially confirms President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as the party’s presidential candidates for the 2027 general election.

The list includes the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, 109 nominees for the Senate, and 360 candidates for the House of Representatives, completing the party’s submissions for all positions covered by the portal.

The disclosure was made on Sunday by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, through a statement issued a day after INEC closed its portal for the submission of presidential and National Assembly candidates.

Yilwatda praised the party’s candidates, leadership and members for successfully concluding the nomination process.

“I congratulate our candidates, leaders, and members of APC on the successful 100% upload of our Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives candidates on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP),”

He further stated:

“With this milestone achieved, our focus now shifts to mobilisation and preparations for a successful campaign and decisive victory at the polls.”

The successful upload also confirms Shettima’s return as Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election, bringing an end to months of uncertainty over whether the APC would maintain its current presidential ticket.

The development follows INEC’s deadline of 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, for political parties to submit the nomination forms of their presidential and National Assembly candidates through the commission’s online portal.

Under the commission’s election timetable, political parties were granted access codes to the portal on June 26, while the submission of Forms EC9 and EC9A to EC9E began on June 27 in accordance with Section 29(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026.
