Veteran Yoruba actress Idowu Philips, popularly known as Iya Rainbow, has dismissed the long-standing claim that late actor Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, popularly known as Baba Agbako, was the biological father of Fuji star Wasiu Alabi, popularly known as Pasuma.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actress described the rumour as false and explained how she believes it originated.

According to Iya Rainbow, Pasuma’s late mother worked as an actress under Baba Agbako in the Yoruba movie industry, a relationship she believes may have led many to wrongly assume they were related by blood.

She recalled that Pasuma was already a young adult before his mother introduced him to members of the entertainment industry.

“I am always surprised whenever I hear people calling the late Baba Agbako as Pasuma Wonder’s father. Lots of people just choose to say nonsense because how are they related? Late Pasuma Wonder’s mother used to be an actress just like me. Everybody in our industry can testify to it, and she was under Baba Agbako then.

“Pasuma Wonder was already a grown-up boy before his mother brought him to our industry. When Pasuma became popular, he chose not to abandon all of us that were close to his mother, including me.

“Pasuma Wonder is a very good son; I pray always for him that he wouldn’t kpai young; he will live long in good health and sound mind in Jesus Name. I love Pasuma Wonder so much and may God bless him abundantly.”

The veteran actress also commended the Fuji musician for maintaining close ties with people who shared a relationship with his late mother.

She noted that despite his fame and success, Pasuma has continued to show loyalty and respect to those who were part of his mother’s life and has not forgotten them.
