The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of a baby princess with his wife, Olori Oluwatosin.

The monarch shared the news in a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday, expressing gratitude to God for the safe delivery and confirming that both mother and daughter are in good health.

“To God Almighty be all the glory for His unfailing grace and the precious gift of new life.

“Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa for the blessed arrival of a Royal Princess through Olori Oluwatosin.

“May the Almighty preserve this divine gift and cause her to flourish in wisdom, grace, and honour.

“We are pleased to share that both Olori Oluwatosin and the Royal Princess are in excellent health,” the Ooni wrote.

The birth comes barely three months after the traditional ruler welcomed twin princes with another of his wives, Olori Mariam Ajibola.

In May, the Ooni also announced the birth of the twins on his Facebook page, thanking God for the safe delivery and stating that both the mother and the children were in good health.

Oba Ogunwusi married six wives in 2022 following the end of his marriage to former queen, Olori Naomi.

The queens are Mariam Anako, whom he married on September 6, 2022; Elizabeth Akinmuda; Tobiloba Phillips, on October 9, 2022; Ashley Adegoke, on October 14, 2022; Ronke Ademiluyi, on October 20, 2022; and Temitope Adesegun, on October 24, 2022.

While marking his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, the Ooni explained that his decision to marry multiple wives was influenced by the traditional heritage and customs of Ile-Ife.
