Victor Osimhen is reportedly under pressure to leave Turkish champions Galatasaray as tensions between the Nigerian striker and the club continue to grow in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Super Eagles forward recently revealed that Galatasaray are yet to pay his salaries for the last three months. During Sunday night’s pre-season friendly against Rennes, which ended in a 3-3 draw, Osimhen also declined the captain’s armband when it was offered to him.
The situation has reportedly created uncertainty over the future of the 27-year-old striker, with the relationship between the player and the club appearing to have suffered setbacks.
The latest developments have opened the door for clubs interested in securing the services of the prolific forward to return with fresh approaches.
Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur reportedly submitted an offer of around €60 million for Osimhen, but Galatasaray turned down the proposal.
Another English side, Chelsea, is also said to have renewed its interest in the striker, who remains highly rated for his goalscoring ability.
Reports also indicate that Atletico Madrid have contacted the player’s camp to inquire about his significant salary package at Galatasaray.
Osimhen’s representative was further reported to have travelled to Madrid for discussions over a possible transfer move.
