‘You owe me over $1M,’ Shallipopi accuses Dapper of selling his catalogue, threatens EFCC action
Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has publicly accused music executive Dapper Music of withholding royalties from 46 of his songs and allegedly selling his music catalogue without proper accountability.
The singer aired his grievances on X, revisiting a long-running dispute with his former record label boss over royalties, music ownership and catalogue management.
Shallipopi alleged that Dapper was sitting on earnings from 46 of his songs, including his widely popular track “E Don Cast,” and questioned how the money was being handled.
“Dapper nor forget na my laho money Dey with me o, u Dey hold me 46 songs royalty income including my ‘E don cast’ money,” he wrote.
He further alleged that Dapper had taken the catalogues of several artistes to Virgin Music, collected money from the arrangement and failed to properly account for the proceeds.
Shallipopi also claimed his own catalogue had been sold and threatened to take the matter to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“Dapper you Dey hold me money o, and u sell my catalog now u Dey act confuse, I go EFCC office i go write statement against u,” he stated.
He went on to accuse the music executive of misleading the EFCC and insisted he was not the only artiste affected by the alleged dealings.
“And u go another EFCC office Dey lie for them, you forget say nor be only me u scam lol,” Shallipopi added.
He also levelled further allegations about the executive’s conduct within the industry.
“Jude nor sabi work reach u and u know broski u be master manipulator, u Dey put juju for mouth Dey talk to trenches boys u know what you are senior man, you too pour us spit.
“Dapper if to say I nor guide na so u for end men, men mount sha,” he wrote.
Shallipopi further claimed that the total amount being withheld from him ran to over $1 million.
“My money wey Dey your hand pass $1m and u know,” he tweeted.
When an X user, @David_pascaL1, suggested that Dapper had played a key role in the singer’s rise to fame and deserved some credit, Shallipopi pushed back firmly, insisting his breakthrough came before he ever crossed paths with the executive.
“Nobody helped my career bro, I uploaded Elon Musk on DistroKid and TikTok blew me up!! All from home bro, I don commot go far before I see this Dapper the ripper nigga, now he nor wan give me my money and the funny part be say nor be only me,” he responded.
The singer also made clear he was prepared to settle the matter in court.
“Make we enter court room Dapperš.”
