The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed the final fare for intending pilgrims participating in the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at N7,882,822.00. The amount is lower than the N7.9 million paid for the previous year’s pilgrimage.

The Board Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, said the reduction was made possible largely through the efforts of Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

“The credit for this reduction goes to the NAHCON Chairman, who since assuming office has pledged to work towards reducing the Hajj fare and making the exercise seamless for Nigerian pilgrims,” Ajomagberin said.

He advised intending pilgrims to complete payment of the fare by September 26, 2026, in line with the deadline issued by NAHCON.

Ajomagberin explained that early payment would allow the Board to obtain the necessary travel documents within the timeframe required by the Saudi Arabian authorities.

He also reiterated the Lagos State Government’s commitment to the welfare of pilgrims throughout their stay in the Holy Land.

According to him, the government will continue to provide quality accommodation, daily meals that include local delicacies, convenient transportation within the holy cities, and organised Ziyarah visits to historical sites in Makkah and Madinah.

He further noted that pilgrims would receive adequate medical services and Basic Travel Allowance (BTA), while the government would also support the provision and slaughtering of Hadayah rams, among other welfare arrangements.
