An Arkansas woman has won a $100,000 lottery prize after randomly selecting a scratch-off ticket from a vending machine.

The woman, identified as Bonnie W., told the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery that she was at a Kroger store in Blytheville, Mississippi County, when she decided to use the lottery vending machine.

Bonnie said she selected a 50X scratch-off ticket by pressing a random button, only to discover that it was worth $100,000.

“I just pushed a random button. I didn’t realise it would have such a big prize. I’m still shocked!” she said.

The unexpected win prompted Bonnie to call her husband, although she said she had to convince him that the ticket was genuine.

She then called her best friend and invited her to accompany her to Little Rock to claim the prize.

The winner said she plans to put the money into savings for the time being.
