Nigerian Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1, became emotional during a live performance after receiving news of the death of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo.

Ogogo reportedly died on Sunday evening after battling cancer, prompting an outpouring of tributes from fellow entertainers, politicians and fans across the country.

KWAM 1 was performing at the Mushin 30th Anniversary Celebration when he was informed of the actor’s death.

A video from the event, which has since circulated widely on social media, captured the Fuji musician visibly distressed as he struggled to hold back his tears.

One of his associates later approached him on stage and offered comfort as he mourned the late actor.

Ogogo was a prominent figure in Yoruba-language Nollywood and was known for his extensive contribution to the Nigerian film industry.

The actor died days after his daughters publicly sought financial assistance to support his treatment for stage-four cancer.

His death has continued to attract tributes from actors, musicians, politicians and admirers, who have honoured his contribution to Yoruba cinema and Nigeria’s broader entertainment industry.
