A security guard, identified simply as Stanley, has been killed in a suspected cult-related attack at Royale Estate, Sangotedo, Lagos State.

The incident reportedly happened on Friday night, when suspected attackers invaded the estate and began shooting.

According to a source familiar with the incident, Stanley was hit by several bullets, including a gunshot to the head.

“They just stormed the estate and started shooting. Stanley, the security man on duty, was shot several times, and in the head too, before they shot in the air and fled the area,” the source said.

The incident was also circulated on NaijaConfra, where social media users claimed that suspected cult members were responsible for the attack.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the killing, saying the victim was attacked by two unidentified men riding a motorcycle.

“The incident occurred. He was shot by two unknown individuals on a motorcycle. The command has launched an investigation into the incident. No suspect yet,” she said.

The incident follows a similar attack in Abule Ijesha, Yaba, where another security guard, Godwin, was allegedly killed by suspected cultists weeks earlier. Three others were reportedly injured in that attack.
