Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has received a Range Rover as a birthday gift from fellow clergyman and close friend, Pastor Jerry Eze.
Bassey, who turned 45 on Thursday, August 27, revealed the birthday surprise in an Instagram post on Friday.
The singer said he usually keeps personal matters private but decided to publicly share the generous gesture.
According to Bassey, he had anticipated a quiet day of gratitude.
He said Pastor Eze coordinated with his wife to plan the surprise.
Bassey added that when his wife suggested a particular vehicle, Pastor Eze insisted on getting a Range Rover, saying his brother deserved nothing but the best.
He wrote: “Normally I keep things like this private, but not this one. I want to share this. Woke up yesterday just desiring a nice, easy day of gratitude to God. Unknown to me, my brother and friend @realjerryeze had this holy coup ongoing with my wife.
Of truth, the surpriser had been surprised. Still don’t know how to really express this in words. He insisted on going for the very best when my wife suggested one to get. In his words, “My brother can’t drive that.”
The singer described Pastor Eze as a generous person and revealed that he was planning similar gestures for other people.
He said he was speechless upon receiving the gift and expressed gratitude, adding that his regard for Pastor Eze would remain unchanged.
He added, “Pastor Jerry, not only has he done this for me. I know of a couple of others like this he is currently planning. The man gives like his life depends on it. And I’m here to publicly say THANK YOU, PJ (Pastor Jerry) – You know, even if you never do this, I’d still love you the same. Thank you, Sir. Like I told you, I am speechless. May the smile you have put on my face and my family be seen in multiple folds on you and yours, in Jesus’ name.”
Bassey prayed that the joy brought to his face and his family would be returned to Pastor Eze and his household in multiple folds.
He also called on his followers to appreciate the clergyman.
“So please, help me thank Him on my behalf. Weary him today with gratitude. Tell him his brother is grateful. Thank you,” he concluded.
