[TRENDING VIDEO] “Give me my job back!” man crashes out at Telco office over data

A Nigerian man has caused a stir after confronting staff at a telecommunications company’s office over his data, which he said ran out while he was attending a job interview.

In a video circulating online, the man could be seen expressing his frustration as he demanded answers from the telecom staff.

According to him, he was in the middle of an online job interview when his data suddenly finished, disrupting the interview and affecting his chances of getting the job.

The man said he was particularly angry because he had already spent a large amount of money on data.

“I have spent over N200,000 on data this month alone,” he said, expressing his frustration over the situation.

He explained that despite spending so much on data, his bundle still ran out at a very important moment.

The man then went to the telecom company’s office to complain and demand an explanation for what he described as unusually fast data consumption.

During the conversation, staff reportedly mentioned his use of Facebook as a possible reason for the amount of data he had consumed.

The man immediately disagreed with the explanation.

“They suspended my Facebook since last year,” he said.

He then questioned how Facebook could be responsible for his data usage when, according to him, his account had been suspended since last year.

“Who is using Facebook for me?” he asked.

The man continued to argue with the staff, making it clear that his main concern was the job interview that had been affected by the data problem.

He reportedly said that he had been trying to secure the job when his data ran out and that the incident had put the opportunity at risk.

As the situation became more heated, the man refused to leave the telecom office.

“Whatever they want to do, let them do it. I’m not leaving until I get my job back,” he reportedly said.

His reaction has since attracted attention online, with many Nigerians sympathising with him and others reacting to the heated exchange over his data usage.

The incident has also sparked another conversation about the cost of mobile data in Nigeria and the complaints many subscribers make about their data finishing faster than expected.

For people who depend on the internet for their daily activities, data is more than just a means of chatting or browsing social media. It can be needed for job applications, online interviews, remote work, businesses, school activities and other important tasks.

In the man’s case, he said the data ran out while he was in the middle of a job interview, making the situation even more serious for him.

His claim that he had already spent more than N200,000 on data in the month has also drawn attention, particularly because he said the data still ran out during an important interview.

It remains unclear what exactly caused the data to finish so quickly, whether the telecom company accepted responsibility for the problem, or whether the man’s job opportunity was eventually restored.

The video, however, has continued to generate reactions as Nigerians debate data consumption, internet costs and the challenges faced by people who depend on mobile internet for important opportunities.
